“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” Romans 8:26
During times where the to-do list grows and the tasks pile up it is really easy for our prayer life and time with God to slip between the cracks. Do whatever it takes to make sure this does not happen. The dishes can wait but your time with God cannot. Our enemy is counting on our weakness and he waits to attack us when we are at our weakest point. Keeping a consistent walk with the Lord is key to keeping life manageable. By going right to the life source Himself you are able to accomplish more than you could imagine.
When you do not know what to pray, remember that Jesus is our intercessor and He will carry us to the cross, we simply need to ask. You may want to consider finding a good Christian friend who can be your prayer partner through the divorce process. It would be wise to choose someone who is close to you and you trust will keep your prayer between themselves and the Lord.
Questions to consider:
Have you been spending time in prayer?
Have you been carrying your burdens yourself, or leaving them at the cross?
Are there any feelings that you are holding on to that you could be giving over to the Lord in prayer?
Pray this:
Father God, Thank you for your mercy and grace. We are so humbled that you would even hear our groans and our desperate prayers. We thank you that you do not expect us to approach your throne in perfection, but rather just as we are. Thank you for accepting us in all of our mess right now. There are so many different emotions going on inside and it can be so confusing at times. Help us to not forget to pray. If it is your will God, send us an accountability partner for prayer and encouragement through this divorce process. Help us to see what your will is in all things as we navigate the path we are on. In Jesus name, Amen.
